With the start of adidas Originals’ marquee collection the Craftsmanship pack hitting stores this month, adidas aims to focus on some of their most iconic models alongside new updated styles. The original Decade Low seen here was an early 80s hardwood classic albeit undergoing a slight face-lift but still maintaining the original colorway. The new re-introduction features a bold style direction with thick toebox stitching and perforated leather.

While you where out chilling at the neighborhood BBQ, celebrating your three day Labor Day weekend we over at Hypetrak where feverishly working to get you the latest music and news before anyone else on the net. Okay, so maybe we kicked back a few beers in the process but hey…we got the job done. This short week saw the release of some dope new videos, a flurry of exclusive MP3s and some interesting news. As always, on Fridays Hypetrak holds you down with your new music fix. Click the links and take a look around the site while you’re at it. You know the drill.
Wallpaper - Txt Me Yr Love
Oakland’s ultra weird, extra goofy Electronic duo Wallpaper take being cheap to a new plateau. The group’s video for “Txt Me Yr Love” was shot completely on a Samsung cell phone. Yes, you read that correctly…entirely on a cell phone. The concept works well with the theme on the track and you can see the crew doing exciting things like brushing their teeth and taking a ride to the mall. For some reason the mundane turns into the epic when filmed with a phone. They have the auto tune device working over time on this one too.
Shad - The Old Prince Still Lives at Home
Before seeing this video I knew very little about Ontario’s own MC Shad. But, if you do a video recreating the opening scene from Will Smith’s classic 90’s sitcom Fresh Prince of Bellaire, including the exact same wardrobe and throw in some dope self deprecating rhymes with a thumping beat and I’m sold. This one is worth a look even if it’s just to admire the attention to detail that they put into it. Although, I was a little disappointed they didn’t throw in the scene from the rarely seen extended version when Will was chilling on the airplane on the way to Bellaire. My old heads know what’s up.
Mickey Factz x Sean C x LV - Freestyle
Aspiring MCs take note. A freestyle is not a rhyme that you memorize at home and then spit in front of a crowd like you made it up on the spot. It’s not a verse from your “upcoming mixtape”. It’s metaphors, similes and clever lines that you spontaneously invent at that very moment. Mickey Factz proves that his spit comes off the top of the dome by pulling things in from his environment and the people around him and creates clever rhymes for the camera over a ridiculously hard beat. Just another piece of evidence for you cats who so easily dismiss and lump the new school together as “hipster rap” have another thing coming once this guys album drops.
Spoon - Writing To You In Reverse (Live)
Spoon recently revealed a new track “Writing To You In Reverse” while performing live at this summers Pitchfork Festival. The tracks slight R&B/Soul feel mixed with a healthy dose of garage rock to it is vintage Spoon and could have easily fit on the band’s album Ga Ga Ga Ga Ga from last year. I need this one in cd quality, studio version ASAP. And, you need to download this one ASAP.

As one of Nike’s most recent lifestyle creations, the Talache is among the few number of lifestyle shoes with a design approach embodying few vintage design notes. With the use of Zoom Air, the ride is guaranteed one of the best in the business as the mid-top has enjoyed a lukewarm reception. In what we equate as one of the better colorways to emerge, this silver/gray tonal style utilizes a limited number of colors yet does a great job of bringing everything together. Check your local Nike dealer for availability as these hit Nike’s Hong Kong dealers on August 8th.

Hooking up with the legendary Spalding company, Flight Club sticks to their basketball roots with a collaboration project alongside the NBA’s official ball supplier. Three different models are seen, with the tag 5 of 300 stamped on two of them. Along with what seems like a glow in the dark, the other sports an army green synthetic looking skin while the most interesting of the bunch looks like a juiced up tennis ball. There is no official word on a release but keep your eyes open for news within the next few days.

Hooking up with one of Cincinnati newest stores in Unheard Of, together with Rogue Status the two brought a Cincinnati and baseball relevant theme to the table as they feature the famous mug of baseball-betting badboy Pete Rose on a t-shirt. The shirt includes a crotch grabbing Pete Rose with the infamous quote, “I’m sorry I bet on baseball” with his signature below which became a bit of a symbolic quote in recent times as he would sign various bits of memorabilia with the quote. The tees drop this Saturday, September 6th at Unheard Of and the following week on Friday, September 12th at Rogue Status’ store in Los Angeles.
