The spiritual successor to the classic 2003 surf documentary Step Into Liquid, Waiting for Lightning is set to premiere at this year’s SXSW. Directed by Jacob Rosenberg and presented by Bandito Brothers and DC Shoes, the film highlights the professional skateboarding career of Danny Way and his rise to stardom from a broken home in Vista, California. Known for his progressive style and ability to push the sport further than anyone to come before him, Way’s fearless attempt to soar across the Great Wall of China exhibits the theme of punishment and perseverance that runs throughout the documentary. Waiting for Lighting will debut at SXSW 2012 in Austin, Texas, which runs from March 9 to March 17.
