Jefferies analyst Peter Misek believes that Apple’s much rumored new solution for revolutionizing the television industry will be called “iPanel.” While some speculated that it would simply be called “iTV” to keep their whole branded content line simple and easy to digest, iPanel is meant to reflect its position as a living room hub for TV, gaming, media and other services. According to Misek, further evidence comes from the fact that Apple has doubled the size of its already huge data center in North Carolina, suggesting that it is preparing for a much bigger push into cloud-based video and TV streaming. While speculation is simply just that as of right now, many believe production for iPanel will begin in either May or June of this year.
