With inspiration drawn from the long-serving K-r, Pentax has announced the K30 Weather Resistant Camera. Ideal for photographers with active outdoor lifestyles, the new camera combines a compact, lightweight body with many advanced features found only in higher-end DSLR camera models. Boasting 16-megapixel resolution, a jump up from 12.4, the latest has an ISO from 100 to 25,600, 1080p digital video capabilities at 30 frames per second, 920,000 dot LCD screen, and a durable body that is impervious to dust and extreme temperatures. The new Pentax K30 will be available at retail outlets nationwide and online in July with a suggested retail price of $850 USD for body only, and $900 USD for the kit including the DA L 18-55mm zoom lens.
