Billboard Names Music’s Top 40 Money Makers of 2014

Billboard has released its annual list of Music’s Top 40 Money Makers for 2014. Leading the pack is 24-year-old singer-songwriter Taylor Swift, who earned just under $40 million USD thanks to sponsorships from Keds, Diet Coke, and Elizabeth Arden alongside income from her RED tour. The likes of Kenny Chesney, Justin Timberlake, The Rolling Stones and Beyonce follow close behind. A recent case study by MIDiA Consulting shows that touring is still the most profitable avenue to take for artists, with 75% of Michael Bublé’s earning, 90% of Celine Dion’s and 95% of perennial earners Trans-Siberian Orchestra’s all stemming from performing shows.
