It has been announced via several A$AP Mob members’ Instagrams that one of the group’s founding members, A$AP Yams has passed away at age 26. Born Steve Rodriguez, no details on the cause of his death have been unveiled. Yams founded A$AP Mob in 2007 with A$AP Bari and A$AP Illz, with A$AP Rocky and A$AP Ferg joining soon after. While A$AP Rocky is undoubtedly the leading star of the cohort, Yams played a crucial role as a mastermind behind the scenes. ”Rocky’s like Luke Skywalker, and I’m Yoda,” Yams told The New York Times in 2013.
