Nike Basketball Officially Reveals "The Black Mamba Pack"
A special farewell from Nike to The Black Mamba.
After word got out that Nike would be celebrating Kobe Bryant’s highly decorated career with a special “Fade to Black” Pack, the Swoosh has officially confirmed that the 81-point scoring threat will be honored with the newly-dubbed “Black Mamba Pack.” The limited-edition offering from Nike celebrates 13 years of Kobe-inspired design and innovation. Alongside designer Eric Avar, Kobe and Nike have managed to change the way many think about performance shoes on-court, from toying with Flyknit and Flywire technology to the ultimate risk of releasing a low-cut basketball sneaker. Each model within the collection steadily fades from white to black which will lead to Bryant’s final NBA game on April 13. Nike Basketball’s “Black Mamba Pack” will begin its release schedule on March 22 with the Nike Huarache 2K4 as the first piece. Each installment of the pack will be available globally at select Nike retailers as well as Nike SNKRS in limited quantities. To round things out, Kobe Bryant will wear the black/gold Kobe XI Elite during his final game.
