The Cleveland Cavaliers Win Their First NBA Title
UPDATE: LeBron James picks up Finals MVP honors.
The Cleveland Cavaliers are the 2016 NBA champions after beating the Golden State Warriors 93 – 89 in a thrilling rematch of last year’s final. Unlike the previous meetings in the series, Game 7 was a tight contest which included over 20 lead switches, though ultimately LeBron James managed to lead the Cavs to their first title in franchise history with a triple-double performance at the Oracle Arena.
UPDATE: “The King” picks up Finals MVP honors, the third of his career, for his outstanding efforts throughout the postseason, which included consecutive 40-point games in games 5 and 6, not to mention his outstanding performance today.
