should I buy them and soak them, then send them back to get tailored?

What?

Soaking isnt necessary on sanforized denim (denim that isn't STF), and you only send them back to the tailor if your not satisfied with the fit.

I'll halp you, its 11:40 at night and i got nuffing better to do.

Imperials..theres not much to them but dope back pockets, long inseam, button fly, selvedge. They don't even come chain stitched. Not hating on these jeans just saying what they are to me. Not bad fading properties but i see them relative to Nudie jeans. Stitching is good nothing to complain, unlike skulls.

Skulls..6x6 is a special, unique warp, hidden rivets, button fly, leather patch, selvedge, chain stitch. Blank back pockets, good fading properties after 4months. Although stitching is 100% cotton which makes it easier to fray, but I heard the makers purposely did this because they like to see repairs (not 100% sure just heard)

Overall to me its looks over quality, so you choose.

flatheads are known for fast fading. 3XXX denim is the shit. Cant stretch!

Samurai is known for its durability not comfort. Samurai has a much longer break in time compared to IH.

meaning youre choosing between a 6-8(fh) month project and a 1-3(sammies) year project.

sanforized - very little shrinkage
unsanforized - shrinkage

and as i've said before
from BiG measurements looks like you can size down to a size 28

Ok so I made the mistake of measuring my actual waist before I bought my APC Petite Standards and apparently i did this wrong because I sized down two (as I was informed was the smartest way to go) and these jeans still fit skin tight months later (bought them in August)...so now I have plans of selling them and buying a pair of Samurai's (710's) in the near future but I'm unsure how to measure myself correctly. Sounds dumb I'm sure but should I measure the biggest part of my legs since the jeans cover that area?

You would be a size 31 in dukes because the real measurements of the 31 in waist is a 32.

and the real waist size of an average joe nudie is a 32.. so I'm assuming they would be the same since they have the same measurements

True also but in my experience it will only stretch a lot in the waist, not the thigh.

I'm thinking about getting a pair of APC new standards to replace my levi 501 STFs. Is there any other pair of jeans in the same price range as the APCs that I should consider? If it's any help im 5'7, 125lbs and my true waist is 29 (I'd buy a 27 in the APCs right?). Do I take my true waist measurement from my actual waist or where I usually wear my jeans (abit below my waist)?

I just bought a pair of apc's NC about 2 monthes ago and i am a size 29. 5'6" 138lbs. i don't wear them below the waste and i bought 1 size down so a 28. they fit nicely and not too snug. there is enough room to wear them below the waste if i wanted to. i would suggest that if you by NS buy 2 sizes down NC buy 1 size down and if you wear them below the waste then they will eventually stretch to that size. good luck
