Watched it opening day. I haven't watched the Swedish version but this film is phenomenal and Rooney Mara's performance is TOO GOOD.

Yeah I always thought i was some romance novel or some shit just cause of the title.

Movie was really good though, easily one of the best films of the year. I'll probably read the sequels before i touch the original movies

read the book when I saw Fincher was directing the movie. The book was pretty good but it was so fucking SWEDISH. So I'm happy that a whole bunch of dudes with a very strong idea of what the American sensibilities of "badass" are are responsible for making the new version. Definitely gonna check it out.

Rooney Mara played Erica Allbright in The Social Network for those of you who don't recognize her in this. Fincher made both movies.

I thought that too, but I think they're just more popular with women because of the subject matter and how things play out (I don't want to give anything away). I plan to read them now.

Yea jus saw it. visuals are on point. Ending was kinda abrupt but I'm guessing that's what happened in the books?

Story build-up was intense as fuck.

I'm pretty sure Fincher is locked in to do the next two as well. I know the studio owns the rights to the trilogy, and I think I read that Fincher will do them.

I watched the original Swedish film and loved it. Watched this one yesterday and thankfully is stayed true to the original. I'd say it's about 95% the same. Good movie all in all.

If any of you have access to Netflix, you can watch the original Swedish movies, 3 in all, on Netflix.

This movie was really good,as I expected.
I loved rooney's character, and the film score was amazing.
Hopefully the sequels come sooner than later.

I was about to start watching the second one too. I've seen the original TGWTDT though, but the two films are almost identical. Not much difference at all.

tbh i like these newer version rather than the OG. The actress in the OG just isn't as gritty as Mara's charater is. Chrey suggested the OG series gets better in the second and third films. So I'll have to peep those.
