Just copped a new distro, Crunchbang, based on Debian which is what Ubuntu is based on. It shits on Ubuntu.

Though it's not my main OS, I run it inside of VirtualBox on OS X for web application development and some C coding. Only allocate 1GB of memory for it and it runs like a champ

Anyone else using a GNU/Linux distro? General discussion thread, if you got any questions or need any help I'll be more than glad to.

I was running Mint and Fedora on VMware, but I think I might give this a try when I get Parallels.

Ubuntu 11.10 on my laptop.

Computer in the breakroom at work is running 12.04. The testing computer is running some version of Mint, but I don't have to use that PC ever.

I was gonna put Ubuntu 10.xx on my phone, but I might wait to do that AFTER I upgrade and get another phone.

Just made the switch less than two months ago, probably won't go back Windows unless I -really- need to. My laptop(2.1ghz t4200 c2d, 4GB ram), sounded like it was going to blow up when it was on W7, and it was REALLY jittery when using HDMI out(forget 1080p). Now it runs like a dream, no issues at all. I can just imagine how well a current-spec computer would run.

Had Ubuntu on my old desktop. But there's no way I'm putting it on my laptop, not until they fix the power management issues.

My battery life is the same or better with 11.10. It doesn't display the correct percentage, but it lasts ~2-3hrs as it did on W7,

^Had it on an Acer Aspire and the battery life dipped from 1hr 45m down to 35m.
Not sure if it was an issue with the meter, but I didn't take the chance and removed it a few hours later.

Probably just the meter. Sometimes it will display sub-1hr times with a nearly full charge. It has jumped up to 1:01, back down to 0:58, back up again and now down to 0:57 since I've typed this. It's displaying about 2/3 on the battery picture.
