As Nike points out, fewer than 1% of its endorsed athletes in its 44-year history have ever received their own signature sneaker. Now Paul George is joining that exclusive club as the Swoosh has unveiled the Pacers star’s very first pair of signature kicks: the PG1.

Teased this morning by George himself on Instagram, the PG1 makes the star forward Nike Basketball’s fourth active signature athlete and the 21st hoops star to get his own Swoosh-branded kicks. A nod to George’s versatility on both the offensive and defensive ends, the lightweight Tony Hardman-designed low-top is tailored for George’s two-way game and features a distinctive forefoot strap along with Flywire cable loops, forefoot Zoom Air cushioning, a full inner bootie for a snug fit, and multidirectional scale-inspired blade traction. The shoe is even debuting in a special “2K” colorway as an homage to George’s cover athlete status on NBA 2K17 while the bobber-like lace locks recall the California native’s love for fishing.

Stay tuned for full launch details regarding the PG1 “2K” and look for George to debut the kicks on the court this Thursday, January 12, when his Pacers take on the Denver Nuggets at the O2 in London for the NBA Global Games 2017.
