The Latest Teaser Trailer for 'The Void' Is Equal Parts Haunting and Gory
Inspired by 1970s horror cinema.
Free from CGI and super fancy post production techniques, the latest horror film to draw cinematic cues from ’70s horror flicks is The Void. This vintage-inspired motion picture straight out of the U.K. is helmed by Steven Kostanski and Jeremy Gillespie, both of whom worked on the Hannibal and Crimson Peak TV series. Not to mention, the duo have also partnered up on the incoming It movie.
The Void teaser trailer reveals a handful of gory sequences, starting with an opening shot inside a creepy hospital and ending with an ominous sky. All in all, the film centers upon a group of community locals including a police officer and hospital patients who are being threatened and tortured by some unnamed, hellish beings clad in white robes.
The film stars Ellen Wong (Scott Pilgrim vs. the World), Kathleen Munroe (Alphas), Aaron Poole (Forsaken), Kenneth Welsh (The Aviator) and Daniel Fathers. Watch the clip above and expect The Void to launch in UK theaters on March 31.
