Sony Interactive Entertainment unveiled more details for its upcoming Spider-Man video game during its press conference at the 2017 Electronic Entertainment Expo. Developed by Insomniac Games for the PlayStation 4 platform, this version of the popular franchise allows players to fight crime on the streets of New York City as Spidey while balancing Peter Parker’s tumultuous personal life.

Insomniac states that “this isn’t the Spider-Man you’ve met before, or seen in a movie.” Instead, the game features a more experienced Peter Parker who’s “masterful” at what he does. The original story should satisfy enthusiasts, as developers mentioned that there are several familiar characters, cinematic set pieces, and views of New York City as you’ve never seen before. While Parker appears to be the main character in this iteration, E3 attendees caught a glimpse of Miles Morales — Parker’s black successor — within an extended scene from the game.

Insomniac’s Spider-Man is slated to release exclusively for PlayStation 4 in 2018. Check out gameplay visuals above and preorder it now.
