The upcoming Netflix spin-off The Punisher starring Jon Bernthal as Frank Castle will be making its debut sometime this year, and the streaming service has provided us our first look of the series. The synopsis of the Marvel show reads: ”After exacting revenge on those responsible for the death of his wife and children, Frank Castle uncovers a conspiracy that runs far deeper than New York’s criminal underworld. Now known throughout the city as The Punisher, he must discover the truth about injustices that affect more than his family alone.”

The images provide insight on Frank’s military past, his hacker ally Micro and his wife Sarah from the comics, the show’s antagonist Billy Russo (villain name Jigsaw), and Karen Page from Daredevil. The last we saw of Karen was The Defenders and it speculated The Punisher takes place after those events but before Daredevil season 3.

The third season of the latter series looks to be setting up an infamous Daredevil storyline from the comics, hopefully, Karen Page’s upcoming arc with the bloodthirsty vigilante lends itself to some of the impacts we can expect when she returns to her home show.
