Here's What Went Down During "Nike Off Campus" Day 1 With Virgil Abloh
The first day of a long-awaited frenzy.
Taking place on Wall Street in New York City, Virgil Abloh and Nike‘s “Off Campus” pop-up event is the hub to any and everything regarding the highly-anticipated collaborative collection, ”The Ten,” as well as so much more. Its inaugural day was kicked off by a Phoebe Lovatt-moderated discussion between Abloh and VP of Nike Footwear Design, Andy Caine. During the talk, you’ll find yourself shoulder-deep in the mind of Off-White’s founder, while the space itself reflects the inspiration and creative process behind the collaboration.
VHS-filtered videos dominated the exhibit space while each silhouette within ”The Ten” were given their own sculpture, if you will, to highlight their respective heritage under the Nike umbrella. Tons of hyped footwear were also on site, from the Tom Sachs x Nike Mars Yard 2.0 to Balenciaga Speed Trainers, and of course, a hefty amount of creatives came donning personal pairs from “The Ten.”
