Lil Wayne Appears on ‘The Tonight Show’ to Perform “Dedicate” off ‘Tha Carter V’
Discusses his “songwriting” process, jokingly states he doesn’t write.
In celebration of Lil Wayne’s long-awaited album release, the rapper dropped by The Tonight Show studio to talk shop with Jimmy Fallon regarding all things Tha Carter V. Already off to a sizzling start, the project is expected to hit the top spot on the Billboard 200 chart next week as it quickly approaches hitting a half-million units earned.
Ready to appease both those in the audience and tuned in at home, Tunechi joined The Roots on stage for a riveting performance of his track “Dedicate” off Tha Carter V. Part of the chat involved speaking on the artist’s songwriting process, to which Wayne clarified his lack of writing, choosing instead to hit the booth in a freestyle frenzy. Lil Wayne even went as far as to thank Fallon’s staff for writing the lyrics to his song for him to rehearse to. Be sure to check out the performance above and chat below for a closer look.
In case you missed it, Travis Scott, Chance the Rapper, Earl Sweatshirt and more are booked for upcoming Mac Miller tribute.
