Virgil Abloh Teases a Collaborative Nike Mercurial VaporMax Hybrid
A part of Virgil’s first football-inspired capsule.
Following the hectic launch of Virgil Abloh’s Air Force 1 for the MoMA, the man behind Off-White™ has teased a new potential collaboration alongside Nike. The preview stays on the footwear route as Virgil took to the line’s Instagram story to reveal an intriguing hybrid inspired by the game of football.
The upper portion of the of the kicks belong to Nike’s soccer shoe model known as the Mercurial while the sole is the Swoosh’s popular VaporMax unit. Blue and white circles are detailed on each toe and Abloh’s signature industrial branding can be found on the medial side in white. If you look closely, the second line reads “Nike Mercurial Vapor,” marking it as a new silhouette that’s most likely part of Abloh’s forthcoming project with Nike Football.
