Nike Introduces Next-Generation Flyknit
The future has arrived.
After giving the Flyknit Trainer a timeless, clean “White/Gum” makeover, Nike looks to establish an entirely new standard for its next major move involving the popular Flyknit style.
Recently previewed as part of Toronto Raptors star DeMar DeRozan’s on-court attire, the next generation of Nike Flyknit has been officially revealed.
“The traditional way to construct Nike Flyknit for a shoe is by knitting a flat upper, which is then attached to a midsole to create the shape of the shoe,” reads a direct statement from Nike. “Now, a major advancement in Nike Flyknit technology allows for a shoe upper to be constructed in a complete 360-degree form that wraps the entire foot, helping athletes feel more secure and controlled during their movements.”
According to the “world’s most valuable apparel brand,” the benefits of the latest Flyknit reinvention are a “closer fit,” improved mobility, and a higher level of durability. At present time, Nike is outfitting the Nike Kobe NXT 360, Mercurial Superfly 360, Mercurial Vapor 360, and the Free RN Motion 360 with the new and improved material.
