An Editorial Look at the sacai x Nike "LDV With Waffle Daybreak"

Despite the in-store European drop delay, we’ve joined with Flight Club to deliver detailed shots of the much-anticipated sacai x Nike “LDV With Waffle Daybreak” collaboration. Executed in “Green Gusto/Black-Varsity Maize-Safety Orange” and “Varsity Blue/Del Sol-Varsity Red-Black,” this dynamic twist on a classic running silhouette may be one of the year’s most anticipated sneaker drops.

Following last year’s closer look, we take an even more detailed peek at the bespoke shoes, which fuse Nike’s classic Daybreak and Waffle Runner silhouettes in an intentionally-jarring hodgepodge of layers. Doubled-up Swooshes, laces, midsoles, toe panels, tongues and heel branding gives the runners a chaotic edge, undercut by the familiar silhouette and approachable colors. Despite the extra detailing, both models are extremely lightweight, with the thin mesh paneling on the upper making for an ultra-breathable shoe ideal for summer.

Check out the in-depth imagery above. No word yet regarding an official relaunch for the shoes, which dropped suddenly on sacai’s site and at its “Bonjour sacai” pop-up in Paris late last month. However, the collaborative “Blazer With the Dunk” is still presumably set for April release.
